現在映画が公開中の「告白」を読みました。
ある程度は予想していましたが、とてもショッキングな内容でした・・・

物語の舞台はとある中学校。
3学期の終業式、女性教師の森口は、
「数ヶ月前に校内のプールで水死した自分の娘は、このクラスの生徒に殺された」
という、衝撃的な告白をします。
事件の真相を1年B組の生徒たちに語ると、ある復讐を遂げて学校を去ります。
しかし、この告白を皮きりに、悲しい連鎖が始まるのです。
この作品の語り手は数人の登場人物で、章毎に変わります。
担任教師の森口、事件の当事者である1年B組の生徒、その家族など、
あらゆる立場の心情がわかりやすく書かれています。
ページをめくる手が止まりませんでした。
でも、語り手になっているどの登場人物も、常軌を逸していて、正直理解できません。
いや、理解できても納得できないというところでしょうか。
無論、わたしは彼らと同じ状況に立ったことがないので、当然と言えば当然ですが。
しかし、実際にその立場になったら、自分もこうなってしまうのかと、恐ろしく思いました。
もし我が子が教え子により不条理な死を与えられたら。
もしクラスメイトが担任の子供を殺した殺人犯だとしたら。
もし家族が殺人を犯してしまったら。
彼らがどんな行動をとったのかは、ぜひ小説をご覧になって下さい。
そして、この作品・・・わたしの苦手な、バッドエンドでした。
明け方かいとんに起こされてそのまま寝付けなくなったときに、
このラストを読んでしまい、悲しい朝日を背中に浴びましたよ・・・(笑)
映画も原作通りのバッドエンドか？
それとも少し救いのあるラストに脚色されているのか？
DVDが出たら、夫と一緒に見ようと思います。

Aw, this was an exceptionally good post. Finding the time
and actual effort to make a very good article… but what can I say…
I procrastinate a lot and don't seem to get anything done.
